If you guys wondering where is the location that I did all my dessert-look light graff pieces , if you guys really wanna know lah, I travel far north to the arabian land ... just kidding. I did all my shots at Melaka or Malacca for mat-salleh. Yeap.. Melaka . They are developing a theme park, I heard it will be Warner Brothers Theme Park, but some says it will be the largest theme park in Malaysia. I don't really know, what I know is, they took the sand from the bottom of the ocean , I believe on the Malacca Straits and dump it to the shares to extend the land, resulting = the dessert . I really love this place cos I love minimalism in my photography. Subject + minimal background.

I'll throw you guys a bonus , here is the google map link. Don't thank me, just buy me 2 cups of coconut shake =) . If you happen to be a light painter / light calligraphy writer and you are in Malacca, just drop me an email and we can paint the dessert with lights together!

Hikarimoji : Past & Present pt2

Chapter 1 : Hiphop : http://hikarimoji.blogspot.com/2012/01/hikarimoji-past-present.html

Chapter 2 : Graffiti

I worked part time at Cyber Cafe in 2000, there is when I get my strong influence in graffiti while hanging out with K'OZ crew , whom are my friends. I got to know about graffiti as early as 1997 but to know it true essence and what its all about around 1998. K'OZ crew is the pioneer of Malaysian Graffiti scene. Subwayz (Batu Pahat) , Sparkling (Batu Pahat) , Nenok (Shah Alam) and Bambam (Indonesia) is the earliest member of K'Oz. I followed them in couple series of graffiti bombing. Subway bombed my sketch piece "JAWI" fusion of Jawi khat and wildstyle graffiti. Believe it or not, Malaysian graffiti scene started at the very small town Batu Pahat Johore! K'Oz made the biggest graffiti mural in Malaysia consisting 2 building blocks wide in 2001 if I'm not mistaken. Since then, the graffiti craze started and we saw many writers were born after K'Oz showed the way. I learned many things from Subwayz , Sparkling, and Nenok. They have their own style and signatures. And I have mine which is, I'm more to calligraphy tags, but sometimes I also did wildstyle sketches and sometimes 3D.

I got proper art learning in my CADDCAM ACADEMY days. There I learned how to sketch properly Industrial Designing ways. I adapt my knowledge and merge it with my old technique. Apart of sketching forms & industrial , I would still sketch graffiti pieces, you know just to express my thoughts. Its kinda relaxing when I have the medium to express my thoughts while chasing assignments datelines, projects and other things-students-need-to-do.

I'm still in love with graffiti, and I still wanted to do it on walls. I envy my friends who make a living with graffiti like PHB KLK of District , PWC & Super Sunday. But now I can graff with lights. I think I evolve to a different level but still loving the origin of the artform. After my college days, after I washed my hands on making music, I felt empty cos I can't express myself. Lucky me I found my gf now wife sometime in between to fill my emptiness. Alamak jiwang la plak! hahahahaha. It's true, her love filled the emptiness and the urge of making art. Don't get me wrong, it's not a bad thing. She is the one pushing me to explore my desire in photography, and she is the one to help to decide Nikon D60 over Xbox360. haha I can't imagine what I'm doing in my free time right now if I bought the Xbox! =) maybe I'll be a fulltime gamer now haha. Thanks to her, I tried photography and fell in love with it.

My Nikon D60.. I bought it... oops.. you guys have to wait for Chapter 3 : Photography .. haha =)
Thanx for reading guys.

Khat Calligraphy is getting recognition day by day. Now , non-Arab/muslim also mesmerized the beauty of Khat.

Light Writer : Apai Biszign (me)
Steel Wool : Seth Lee

This one is another piece I made with Seth Lee ( former Light Graff Practical Workshop Student ). I am amazed by Seth's spirit. He did the steel wool fiery stunt without wearing hoodie or hat to protect him from the hot sparkles, but I warned him though and he promised me to take safety precautions after this. I'm proud of him cos his finally found something in Light Graffiti world that he is truly excited about. Enjoy!

Light Graffiti : Harimau Malaya Tribute

Salam guys,
Last Saturday, I did a Light Graffiti knowledge sharing session at Melaka. I'm quite dissapointed, cos I held it for free and people take it for granted. Many did'nt showed up after booking their seats. Maybe next time I have to make some rules to ensure attendance.

After my presentation, I decided to do a light graff photoshoot for the participants os that they can get a grasp of the theoretical lectures and balnce it out with practical. Hence I came out an idea to make a tribut to Malaysian National Football team a.k.a Harimau Malaya (Malayan Tiger).

red white blue yellow = Malaysian Flag Color
Pardon the tiger fiery painting, it didnt goes out as I expected

Light Graffiti : www.cs8.my Consoci8 Logo Shoot

Assalamualaikum people!
How are you guys doing? ooooooooooo.. so many sawang laa this blog.. sorry for not updating regularly, My office has blocked website surfing, and my home broadband internet suxx big time.

Last week, one of the founder of Consoci8 contacted me. They wanted to make a small in-front-of-office-door-sign board. On the tele-conversation , he wanted my suggestion on how to infuse light graffiti with their Logo and I decided to so silhouette + light streak painting where the idea is to make the logo fonts as silhouette while the company`s corporate color as light streak. For the finishing, I suggested them to print on transparent acrylic and the installation consists of light bulb to put behind off the printed acrylic so that it will illuminate the light streaks.

The whole idea makes me excited.

Here how the project goes.
I printed out the logo using 6pc A3 sized paper (tiles) , and then I glued them together

After that, I glued them on a hard mounting board , around 2-3 mm thick. It take around 1 hour for the glue to dry.
Then, I carefully cut out the logo but I kept the spacing by keeping leftovers between fonts.
to ensure the spacing, I have to figure out on how to hold the alphabets together. I decided to use 3-4mm thick cable. I made holes on both alphabets , then I punch and twist the cable on both end. Its not that tough but it holds. I don`t want to use thicker cable cause it will appear in the picture.
Then I cut out the remaining leftovers =)
Now , the biggest problem is.. how to make the alphabet stand on it`s own? My initial idea is to set the fonts on a table with black cloth as it base, an create a foot at the bottomest where the fonts is touching the table. But I don't think it will work. So I came on another idea. Hang it!
Sweet isn`t it .. I never thought I would pull this off, but I always trust on my instinct and try to make it work. I setup the the hanger at my office "Soul Chapters Studio" at Pulau Gadong Melaka. ( If you guys wanted to do white studio photoshoot you guys can contact me). Luckily 2 of my fellow friends is there to help out with the setup.
This is the best piece I made after several attempts. The idea is to make a "comet/asteroid" feel where I think Consoci8 is an amazing company where they can help you to make your idea/product operational using their system and expertise. For me Comet or Asteroid is  Fast, Strong and Out Of This World. It suits Consoci8 .I never bumped to this kind of company before in Malaysia. And I am proud to have the opportunity to work with them! Thank you Consoci8 www.cs8.my .. check them out guys!
